Cookie Policy

Last updated: May 30, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how PixenLabs uses cookies and similar local-storage technologies on our website and platform, the legal basis for each use, and how you can control them. It supplements our Privacy Policy and forms part of our Terms of Service.

1. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?

"Cookies" are small text files that a website places on your device to remember information about you between visits. "Similar technologies" include browser storage mechanisms such as localStorage and sessionStorage, which serve a comparable purpose and are treated the same way under the EU ePrivacy Directive and Spanish Law 34/2002 (LSSI).

For transparency: PixenLabs does not set first-party HTTP cookies of its own. We rely on your browser's local-storage and session-storage to remember authentication, preferences, and your cookie choices. When you visit certain pages (for example, checkout), embedded third-party services such as Stripe may set their own cookies — these are governed by their respective policies.

2. Categories We Use

We group what we store on your device into three categories:

CategoryPurposeLegal BasisDuration
Strictly NecessaryAuthentication, organisation context, securityContract / Legitimate interestUntil logout or storage cleared
FunctionalTheme, language, layout preferences, onboarding progressConsentUntil cleared by you
Consent RecordStoring your cookie preferencesLegal obligation (ePrivacy / LSSI)Up to 1 year, then re-asked

We do not currently use cookies or similar technologies for analytics, behavioural advertising, fingerprinting, or marketing purposes. If we add such uses in the future, we will update this Policy, notify you, and re-request your consent before activating them.

3. Detailed Inventory

Below is the complete list of keys we use, the category each belongs to, what each one does, and how long it persists. All keys are stored in your browser (either in localStorage or sessionStorage) and never leave your device through this storage mechanism.

3.1 Strictly Necessary

  • Authentication session — keeps you signed in across page reloads. Duration: until you log out.
  • Cached profile context — reduces API calls when loading the app. Duration: until you log out.

3.2 Functional

  • Language preference — remembers your selected interface language. Duration: persists until you clear your browser storage.
  • Onboarding progress — records whether you completed, skipped, or have already seen the onboarding flow. Duration: persists until you clear your browser storage.
  • Promotional banner dismissals — remembers which in-product banners you have closed so they do not reappear. Duration: persists until you clear your browser storage.
  • Terms-update notification tracker — records that you have seen the most recent Terms-update alert so the in-product notification does not repeat. Duration: replaced when a new Terms version is published.

3.3 Consent Record

  • Your cookie preferences and the date you set them — stores the choices you make on this page so we do not ask again on every visit. Duration: up to one (1) year, after which we will ask again.

4. Third-Party Cookies on Linked Services

Certain pages embed services operated by other companies. When you interact with them, those services may set their own cookies on your device. We do not control these cookies; they are subject to the third party's own privacy and cookie policies.

  • Stripe — when you proceed to checkout, Stripe may set cookies on its hosted payment pages for fraud prevention and session continuity.
  • Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google, Google will use its own cookies as part of the authentication flow.

Please refer to those providers' privacy and cookie policies for more details on what they store and how to manage it.

5. Your Cookie Preferences

Use the controls below to manage your preferences for the storage we use. Your choices are saved on your device. Disabling Functional storage will not prevent you from using PixenLabs, but theme, language, sidebar layout, and similar preferences will reset every time you reload the page.

Strictly NecessaryRequired

Essential storage that enables core functionality: authentication, organisation context, and security. These cannot be disabled because the Services cannot operate without them.

Functional

Storage that remembers your preferences — theme, language, sidebar state, workflow canvas settings, and onboarding progress. Disabling them will not break the Services but you will lose these conveniences between visits.

Consent RecordRequired

Stores the choices you make on this page so we do not ask again every time you visit. This is required by EU consent rules and cannot be disabled.

6. How to Control Cookies via Your Browser

Most browsers let you refuse, delete, or limit cookies and other site storage from their settings. Blocking all site storage will prevent you from staying signed in to PixenLabs and will reset all your preferences on every visit.

7. Consequences of Disabling Functional Storage

Functional storage is optional. If you choose to disable it:

  • Your theme (light/dark) will revert to the default on each visit.
  • Your language preference will not be remembered.
  • The sidebar will reopen to its default state on each navigation.
  • The Workflow canvas will reset its display preferences.
  • You may see onboarding prompts more than once.
  • Notifications about Terms-of-Service updates may appear more than once.

Disabling Strictly Necessary or Consent Record storage is not supported in-app because the Services cannot function without authentication and we are legally required to record your cookie choices. You can still clear them at any time from your browser settings.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in technology, legislation, or our practices. We will indicate the date of the most recent revision at the top of this page. For material changes — for example, the addition of analytics or marketing technologies — we will notify you in advance and re-request your consent before activating them.
